Marco Ferrigno is a new guitarist from Mexico. He has just finished has an instrumental CD called "The Quest". This debut CD contains some impressive writing as well as playing. Marco has completed the entire 12 CD-ROM "George Bellas Instructional Series" and has also studied "Turn Of The Millenium" to the point I think worth noting under this Student Spotlight page. Some of this stuff sounds very much like something I would of wrote or played and at other times I hear Macalpine influences. Putting influences aside, I hear a very passionate and skillful guitarist with his own voice destined to make a mark of his own. Marco used an ESP guitar, Marshall JCM2000 amp and an Ibanez Tube Screamer for the recording. I really think this guy should be heard, he is a tremendous talent with an ambitious attitude. His partner in the studio on the debut CD is Javier Leal-Guitar and Keyboards , a very accomplished player and writer as well. He shares guitar solos with Marco throughout the CD and also adding some keyboards to the wall of sound. Some real spine tingling performances on this album. I must admit I really like it. It sounds fresh and inventive. It's great to hear not only good playing but creative composing!
